Our Little "Egglet"
We had Miss Bentley tested for allergies last week for several reasons. After her asthma episode, the pedi referred us to the allergy/asthma dr. Fortunately, her mom and dad are some frequent shoppers at the allergist, so we know she was in good hands. She also had a bunch of weird symptoms like she complains of her stomach hurting all the time, she itches all the time, she doesn't eat, and her eyes swell and have dark circles under them. Dr. Zambrano said she definitely needs to be tested. Mom was nice enough to go with me since Bentley is not the best of patients. They pricked her back about 20 times and she started to immediately react to a few of them. Long story short, she is severely allergic to eggs. So allergic, we have to carry an epipen. She is also highly allergic to dogs, cats, and mold. He said she will probably outgrow the egg allergy with age, but she could grow into other allergies. She cannot have anything with eggs whatsoever. She is also on some medicine and we are to go back in a month. This really explains a lot about her. Hopefully after learning of all of this, we will get her straightened out and we will have a happy less itchy kid!
