Hey Now Here We Go

Last night was Riley's first rodeo experience and he loved it. We started our fun evening off dining at Papasitos. After we feasted on chips, cheese and fajitas, we headed over to Reliant where "the cowboys play" (I think there was some mixing up of rodeoing and football). Riley was escourted via Dad's shoulders and liked that part too. We got to our seats in time for him to see the bull riding, chuckwagon races, and the kids calf wrestle. He really liked watching the kiddos try to catch the calves. Then the lights went down and DIERKS came out. He started the concert out with Riley's favorite song "Sideways" or as Riley calls it "Hey Now Here We Go." I have some video of him jamming out. He did great and really enjoyed the show.

Yee Haw Church Style

This last Sunday, our church hosted a Rodeo Day.  They had a petting zoo, pony rides, hay rides, jumperoo things, and rodeo food.  It was a really nice day for such a fun outing.  Rick and Tricia and the boys came and joined us.  Although, Griffin told Rick he wanted to go the "REAL rodeo" I believe he ended up having fun.  Here are some pics that Tricia got with her camera.

Bentley's First Ice Cream Sundae

I was getting my flip ready to take to the rodeo tomorrow and I forgot that I had this. We made ice cream sundaes on Valentine's Day after our nap time. Riley loved his and ate it quickly as he usually does. Bentley was a bit apprehensive at first, but she ended up eating some of it.

Happy Birthday Casey!

Last Friday Casey turned 31 and poor thing he had a sinus infection.  I think Riley was more excited about the birthday than anyone else.  He picked out an ice cream cake and some balloons for his Daddy.  We celebrated with Memaw and Nona Friday night with hamburgers.  Then Saturday we ate at PF Chang's (thanks Dick and Linda) and Sunday we ate some great food at Rick and Tricia's.  Bentley really enjoyed the cake that Nana made.  All in all Casey had a great birthday despite his feeling sick.

2 Weeks Until We Meet Again

Two weeks from today, Dierks and I will be reunited.  This time, I am brining his 2nd biggest fan - Riley.  Riley knows almost every word to every song (I don't know where he gets that from) and loves Dierks.  This will be Riley's first concert and first rodeo, so I am sure he is going to have a blast.  I cannot wait to see his face when he sees and hears Dierks rip into his first song.  In honor, I have posted a couple of my fav pics.  I love the one of Dierks and his daughter....that shows his soft side.

Miss Thing would NOT take her vest off and demanded it be zipped up all the way.  She also will not shed the house shoes.  She knows what she wants, I will give her that!

Update of the Death of Muf Mah

Well, we survived the weekend without muf mah.  I decided to go ahead and cut the end of it for bed time/nap time, so we pretty much did it cold turkey.  It was rough at first, but each day got better.  I still give her the cut muf mah in her bed, and she just stares at it wondered where her best pal went.  She also carries it around in her hand, but is learning to deal with it.  All it took was a lot of strength on everyone's part to survive.  WHEW!!!

Adios Muf Mah

It has come time to take the muf mah away.....what is that you ask, that is Bentley's addiction - her pacifier. I cut it down to nap time and bed time in December, but when we went to Fredericksburg with the family, she cried the entire time and was stuck to my hip, so she regained her love again so we didn't drive the other family members absolutely crazy. The past 3 weeks, she has been really fussy and is cutting 4 teeth again at once and I blinked and realized that she had muf mah ALL the time again. Then we left for Vegas and Mom said that she requested it the whole time as well. So we were right back where we started. I decided to get tough (IT IS SOOOOO HARD) and nip it in the bud. Muf mah now lives in the crib and the only time she can have it is to go to sleep. So she just goes and stares at her bed and screams - fun times, let me tell you. After a bit of time passes, I believe I am just going to cut the nipple and have a broken muf mah. I got this video footage today and really, it is much worse than the video portrays. She quit fussing for a bit on camera. Riley was so different than her and had no problem letting go of the paci....wish me luck and pray for me.
